Surge arrestors

Providing you the Substation/Line Equipment and Services, we are dedicated to being your most trustable & reliable partner.

What is a Surge Arrester?

A surge arrester protects electrical equipment from voltage spikes caused by lightning or switching by safely diverting excess voltage to the ground. Engineer’s enterprise provides two types of surge arrestors:

Material & Design

Made of rigid glazed ceramic; strong and durable with a traditional structure.
Constructed from silicone rubber over a fiberglass core; lightweight and flexible.

Installation & Handling

Heavy and brittle; requires lifting equipment and cautious handling during transport and setup.
Lightweight and easy to install; ideal for quick deployment with minimal equipment.

Contamination Behavior

Performs well in moderately clean environments; requires cleaning in high-pollution or humid conditions.
Excellent resistance to pollution and moisture due to hydrophobic surface.

Maintenance & Lifespan

Long service life if maintained regularly; periodic surface cleaning is essential in polluted settings.
Low maintenance with long-term reliability in harsh and remote environments.

When to Choose

Best for installations in clean, stable environments where traditional equipment is already in place.
Preferred for polluted, coastal, remote, or compact areas where low weight, safety, and reduced maintenance are key.
